Job description

Insight Global is looking for a Director of Benefits and Compensation for a large enterprise.

Reporting to the SVP HR & Chief Ethics Officer, this position is responsible for leading the Compensation, Benefits, and Organization Design portfolio. The Director supervises a team of professionals to oversee company-wide services and programs, including setting the strategic direction for total compensation to attract and retain talent that meets business needs. The role involves reporting to the board on total rewards matters such as pension, compensation, and benefits, and managing the departments responsible for delivering these products and services.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Managing third-party providers to ensure effective operations and compliance with requirements.
  2. Implementing changes and enhancements to services and systems as needed.
  3. Overseeing the annual compensation program and developing strategic directions for approval by senior executives.
  4. Participating in committees and studies related to strategic issues in total compensation, and preparing conclusions and recommendations.
  5. Preparing the organization for rate applications related to total compensation and acting as a witness on the Board panel when required.
  6. Managing Labour Relations issues related to pension, benefits, and compensation, including strategic analysis and bargaining preparation.

Skills and Requirements

  1. At least 3+ years in a senior management role (Senior Manager, Director, or Sr. Director).
  2. 8-10 years of experience in compensation and benefits at a large enterprise, preferably with unionized employees.
  3. Proven results in total compensation programs, with comprehensive understanding of current practices and trends.
  4. Experience presenting to senior leadership and boards, and managing pay-for-performance programs.
  5. University Degree in Business, HR, or related fields.
  6. Experience in highly regulated industries (government, healthcare, energy, etc.) and familiarity with HR systems like SAP.
  7. Compensation certification is preferred.
  8. Experience working with unionized organizations with multi-union presence and complex pension structures.
