Job description

The Director of Public Health is the system leader responsible for improving residents' health and wellbeing, reducing health inequalities, and safeguarding communities from public health hazards such as infectious diseases and environmental threats.

This role is a statutory chief officer position within the authority and serves as the primary adviser on health matters to elected officials, officers, and partners. The role encompasses leadership across three key areas: health improvement, health protection, and healthcare public health.
