Tasks

1. Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems
2. Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit
3. Discuss work with supervisor
4. Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
5. Review work orders
6. Road test motor vehicles
7. Test automotive systems and components
8. Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems
9. Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems
10. Repair or replace mechanical units or components
11. Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications
12. Estimate parts and labour cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs
13. Perform scheduled maintenance service
14. Test and adjust units to specifications
15. Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements
16. Complete reports to record problems and work performed
17. Coach and instruct apprentices
18. Provide customer service
