Job description

Requisition ID: #

Join a purpose-driven, winning team committed to results within an inclusive and high-performing culture.

The Manager, Model Risk Governance, supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Bank’s model risk governance process. This includes models related to market risk, retail and non-retail credit risk, operational risk, capital, and treasury models.

This role is part of the Model Risk Governance unit within Global Model Risk Management (GMRM), which provides independent and consistent model validation, approval, and governance across various risk portfolios.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
  1. Analyze business processes and identify improvements to support Model Risk Governance activities and the implementation of governance tools (e.g., SAS MRM, IBM OpenPages).
  2. Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of models and ensure the reliability of model inventory data.
  3. Support the model inventory attestation process across all Bank areas and relevant committees.
  4. Assist in the development of dashboards, reports, and metrics using model inventory data.
  5. Support and coordinate the creation of model risk reports for senior management and the Board.
  6. Collaborate with business units, MVA, BGRO, Audit, Finance, and others on information requests related to model governance.
  7. Participate in governance activities, including compliance attestations and regulatory reporting.
  8. Contribute to the review and enhancement of the Bank’s model risk framework, policies, standards, and other governance documents.
  9. Research industry best practices in model risk management and governance, focusing on regulatory and audit expectations.
  10. Support updates to policies and procedures to comply with upcoming E-23 MRM Guidelines (due Sept 11, 2025).
  11. Lead thematic reviews across subsidiaries to ensure policy compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  12. Assist in developing automated data quality reports to improve input accuracy and reduce manual reviews.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in commerce, computer science, data science, or related fields with a strong analytical background.
  • 1+ year of experience in risk management, compliance, audit, or related functions (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of databases and systems for model inventory management (e.g., SAS MRM).
  • Understanding of internal control design, implementation, testing, and documentation.
  • Excellent written and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.).
  • Good coding skills in R, Python, SQL, etc. are assets.
What’s in it for you?
  • An inclusive, collaborative environment that fosters creativity and celebrates success.
  • Competitive rewards: Performance bonus, Employee Share Ownership Program, Pension Plan Matching, and Health Benefits from day one.
  • Opportunities for career development and progression.
