Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid)

Position: Software Analyst

We are looking for a Software Analyst to join our team in Toronto.

Under the guidance of senior team members, the successful candidate will analyze subsystem requirements as the basis for performing design, analysis, programming and integration activities in the development of software for train control systems of Ground Transportation Systems Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Understands and follows the company's processes and procedures for developing vital software.
  2. Implements real-time systems in 'C' and Assembler.
  3. Produces the requirements analysis, designs, codes, debugs, writes test procedures, and tests software code.
  4. Analyses, implements correction, and reviews defect reports.
  5. Under the guidance of senior team members, perform engineering testing in the field and investigates problems in the field.

Required Skills and Experience:
  1. 0-3 years of work experience in a relevant field.
  2. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  3. Good command of the 'C' language.
  4. Working knowledge of Windows/Linux programming.
  5. Good analysis skills, able to diagnose issues based on logs.
  6. Able to handle assignments within medium to large scale software applications.
  7. Good organizational abilities.
  8. Good interpersonal, writing, and verbal skills.
  9. Able to quickly integrate with the team and work independently.
  10. Knowledgeable of software development environments (Windows, Linux, desktop simulator, target simulator, etc.).
  11. Knowledgeable of the software development life cycle.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  1. Experience with real-time embedded applications, ideally on safety-critical systems.
  2. Experience with Assembler programming.
  3. Knowledge and familiarity with CENELEC 50128:2011.
