We have a 1-year remote GIS and Website Developer contract in Mississippi. The anticipated start is June 1, 2025.
The Developer will provide GIS and website development technical support to the agency.
Goals Include
- Assessing the current numbers, ages, types of practice, hospital affiliations, and geographic distribution of physicians in each medical specialty in Mississippi.
- Assessing the current and future physician workforce needs of the State of Mississippi.
Projects Include
- Design dynamic, interactive GIS maps to visualize physician workforce shortages and underserved areas.
- Develop a user-centric, mobile-responsive website focusing on accessibility.
- Embed interactive geospatial dashboards showcasing real-time physician workforce data and geographic trends.
- Implement tools to generate custom reports by region, specialty, and workforce indicators.
- Maintain effective communication with agency staff to support projects, focus on goals, and meet deadlines.
- Assist with collecting, organizing, and leveraging large datasets across multiple subject matters for accessible analysis.
- Maintain and enhance physician workforce datasets in compliance with statutory mandates, ensuring data integrity and accuracy for public and governmental reporting.
- Support creation and management of project timelines.
- Assist with data migration, website updates, and migration of GIS services to ArcGIS Enterprise.
- Upgrade Mapper application to the latest ESRI JavaScript SDK or similar as directed.
- Convert Licensure data as directed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise
- Website development skills
- Data visualization expertise
- Familiarity with MS government and/or physician workforce data
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Calcite Design System, Microsoft Full-Stack Development, ESRI ArcGIS JavaScript SDK, Data Migration Quality Control, Data Automation, and Microsoft SQL Server
Desirable Qualifications
Experience in governmental data modernization or project management.
