Operations, Fabrication and Graphic Supervisor Construction GTA Commercial, Retail $110-$120k Vacation, Bonus, Benefits Our client has a major foothold on the commercial oil and gas retail construction market and is growing fast. This position has strong growth potential and is looking for a candidate who can bring innovation and strategies to the table. The department that the candidate will manage is well taken care of but is looking for advancements.
The Position The selected candidate will manage four areas: Fabrication, Assembly, Graphic, and Art and Graphic production. There is a team already in place with some strong candidates as team leads.
Expectations
Assign work to both the Fabrication and Graphic department employees to attain department objectives using knowledge of production processes, production schedules, work orders, equipment capacity, and employee capabilities.
Readily perceive and effectively respond to schedules and product flows essential to supervising highly productive, cost-effective, quality-oriented fabrication and graphics operations.
Establish and maintain procedures to meet production schedules.
Recommend and initiate improvements to production processes to increase production efficiency for both the Fabrication and Graphics departments.
Monitor and control established procedures to ensure compliance with quality standards for both departments.
Monitor and report on weekly/monthly KPIs.
Ensure that any product that needs to be produced is completed and ready to ship to site on time.
Guide, coach, and lead the Fabrication and Assembly Team Leads to ensure objectives and production are met in a timely manner.
Occasionally work with the Development Team to create documents, surveys, and processes to improve efficiencies in Fabrication and Graphics.
Maintain ongoing communication with the team through Smartsheet to ensure proper flow of information.
Act as a backup to the Fabrication and Assembly Team Lead during emergencies or extreme rush periods as needed.
Evaluate employee performance and accountability.
Provide objective feedback for continued employee growth.
Recommend and/or administer personnel actions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Set department goals and develop an outline for achievement.
Work overtime as needed to meet production deadlines.
Use Account Edge to create POs for material and equipment as needed.
Assist in coordination of product leaving the warehouse as required.
Follow the laws of the OHSA.
Represent the company by acting as an ambassador at all times.
Qualifications
Ability to read and understand production drawings.
Ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment, and effective time management in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision.
Computer literate with experience using Microsoft suite including but not limited to email, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to learn and understand software, including but not limited to Smartsheet.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrate ability to supervise diverse work groups in a team environment using effective listening, coaching, training, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
Practical knowledge of fabrication processes and equipment/materials required.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs at a time.
Ability to sit, stand for long periods of time, bend, reach, kneel, twist, pull, push, and grip.
