Job Title : SharePoint Analyst – Intermediate

Client : Government of Alberta

Location : Edmonton, Alberta (Primarily Remote)

Project Name : Ministry Intranet Modernization

Working Hours : Monday to Friday, 08 : 15 – 16 : 30 (Alberta Time)

Duration : Approx. 1,573.25 hours

Equipment : Consultant must provide their own compatible device (Windows preferred)

Role Summary

The SharePoint Analyst will support the Ministry Intranet Modernization initiative by designing, developing, migrating, and enhancing departmental intranet pages using SharePoint Online. Reporting to the Manager of Content and Collaboration Services, the successful candidate will work closely with communication teams and stakeholders across Government of Alberta ministries to ensure effective content delivery and user experience during the migration from SharePoint 2016 to SharePoint Online.

Key Responsibilities

  • Experience as a Site Collection Administrator.
  • Experience troubleshooting forms and workflows (all types).
  • Experience using and supporting ShareGate.
  • Experience using Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Experience with the development, integration, and support of Microsoft SharePoint 2016 and Microsoft 365 SharePoint Online.
  • Experience in developing integrated system and technical design specifications on complex engagements.
  • Experience using PowerShell to manage Farm / Application / Site Collection / Site Features.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 SharePoint Online admin portal, reporting, configuration, and administrative tasks.
  • Experience with the Government of Alberta's Information Technology / Information Management policies, standards and guidelines.
  • Experience with the use of Central Administration on a SharePoint environment.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience with SharePoint Online , including site design, content management, and migration.
  • Proficient in UX / UI design principles and tools.
  • Ability to translate complex business needs into technical solutions.
  • Familiarity with CMS best practices and content optimization techniques.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of custom SharePoint development (themes, web parts, workflows) is an asset.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience supporting enterprise-level SharePoint environments is preferred.

The proposed resource must meet or exceed one of the following :

  • University graduation in computer science or a related discipline and 4-yr relevant experience;
  • 2-yr diploma in computer science or a related discipline and 6-yr relevant experience;
  • 1-yr certificate in computer science or a related discipline and 7-yr relevant experience;
  • a currently active professional certification or accreditation and 8-yr relevant experience
