Job Description

Fuel is a vital component of the Army National Guard. As a Petroleum Supply Specialist, you'll ensure the proper handling, storage, and shipment of petroleum-based products such as oil, fuel, and compressed gases.

Petroleum Supply Specialists supervise and manage the reception, storage, and shipping of bulk or packaged petroleum products. Responsibilities include operating specialized pumping equipment, testing petroleum samples, performing accounting activities, repairing equipment, and following safety procedures.

As your skills develop, so will your responsibilities, including supervising and training Soldiers, assigning duties, and ensuring safety compliance.

  1. Receive and stock bulk and packaged products
  2. Issue and dispense fuels and water from storage facilities to using units

Training provides skills for civilian careers in oil refineries, pipeline companies, and tanker operations.

Earn While You Learn

Join the Army National Guard to learn valuable skills while earning a paycheck and qualifying for tuition assistance. Certified apprenticeship programs may be available.

After 10 weeks of Basic Training, you'll attend 11 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT), combining hands-on and classroom learning.
