Job Summary
The Senior Systems Analyst provides technical leadership in analyzing existing or proposed systems-related business procedures, problems, user requirements, and developing related strategies. Responsibilities include interacting with users to analyze systems hardware and software problems, and contributing to the design, provisioning, and configuration of systems based on user needs. The primary focus will be supporting, maintaining, and improving the University’s Active Directory services, Azure Active Directory Services, and enterprise password vault technology within the Identity and Access Management function. The incumbent will also provide after-hours on-call support on a rotational basis.
The Identity and Access Management function manages data about Users, including user objects, identity attributes, security entitlements, and authentication attributes, using business process management and technologies.
As UBC’s User community grows beyond traditional organizational boundaries, the complexity of the User ecosystem increases, necessitating stronger information security controls and accurate user validation, entitlement management, and access governance. The position reports to the Manager, Identity and Access Management, and collaborates with various teams across UBC to coordinate application support.

Works under the general direction of the Manager, IAM, and daily guidance from Application Architects or senior staff. Must work independently and collaboratively.

May mentor less experienced staff, oversee contractor deliverables, and support team development.
Minimum Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in a relevant field, with in-depth knowledge of applications and business requirements. At least five years of related experience or equivalent combined education and experience.
