What is the Opportunity?

Aecon Nuclear has an ongoing contract with Ontario Power Generation to support the Darlington Nuclear Generation Station Extended Services Master Services Agreement (ES MSA) programs.

The Role

The Project Quality Manager reports to the Quality Director and manages the Aecon Quality organization, supporting the project team in close cooperation with OPG management. The focus is on building systems and processes to achieve excellent nuclear safety metrics and cost-effective quality results to maintain and service the Darlington facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Drive an inclusive culture promoting equity and career progression.
  • Establish nuclear and conventional quality strategies, objectives, and long-term goals.
  • Promote a culture of nuclear safety and quality within project teams.
  • Interpret, execute, and modify strategies and policies to sustain safety and quality.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and understand customer quality strategies.
  • Ensure effective deployment of Quality Assurance processes, including corrective actions and investigations.
  • Define Supply Chain Quality and engage strategically with suppliers.
  • Oversee lifecycle manufacturing quality assurance up to site construction.
  • Ensure OSHA and CCOHS compliance and safety program adherence.
  • Execute internal audits and manage root cause and corrective actions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in process improvement, project management, and change management.
  • Challenge leaders to develop a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Qualifications
  • Champion of inclusion and diversity.
  • Minimum 5 years in a Quality/Manufacturing leadership role.
  • Expertise in Quality Assurance programs and manufacturing/project quality.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Physical Science, or related field.
  • Experience with audit systems and stakeholder management.
  • Knowledge of design and manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of nuclear quality standards such as ISO9001, N286, N299.
