Who are we looking for?

As a Civil 3D Software Developer, you will be part of GHD's Digital Design Technical Services Group to support project demands specific to software development. You will play an active role in ensuring that Dynamo and its ecosystem meet high standards of quality and will be responsible for testing Autodesk's next-generation Dynamo functionality.

Dynamo offers sophisticated visual programming capabilities within powerful Autodesk modeling tools such as Revit and Civil 3D, making computational design approachable. The successful candidate will create complex design solutions to address GHD's key challenges. We are continually enhancing our customers' access to computational design, automation tools, and data collection/output, aiming to evolve from desktop applications to cloud-native solutions, embracing emerging technologies like AI. We seek a problem solver who is quality-minded and client-focused, ensuring our customers have the best tools to meet their expectations.

The role involves a combination of civil design and application development, focusing on the AEC industry and BIM. The candidate will facilitate collaboration with design teams to produce software architecture and will support workflow automation projects, including developing tools/plugins and maintaining testing strategies for Dynamo within DDTS Group.

Working with a high-performing team, this position involves:

• Establishing processes to ensure quality data/software delivery
• Developing comprehensive software test plans focusing on UI, functionality, performance, and workflow
• Executing test designs to identify and prioritize defects
• Receiving and tracking defect reports from various sources
• Creating test cases and automation scripts based on real production work
• Participating in requirement gathering, test planning, execution, and reporting meetings
• Upholding high quality standards for products and projects
• Supporting internal clients with training and defect identification
• Collaborating with experienced engineers to adopt best practices
• Writing and running automated tests
• Liaising with internal teams and coding experts
• Managing content creation tools for accurate, high-quality shop drawings and revisions
• Defining and documenting Civil 3D content standards aligned with operational data management and manufacturing needs

What you will bring to the team :

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field
• 5+ years' experience in Software Development R&D and QA
• Extensive experience with Civil 3D and AutoCAD, keeping current with updates
• API and coding knowledge
• Understanding of drafting techniques and engineering terminology, especially in structural window wall and curtain wall systems
• Problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and familiarity with Agile processes
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, GitHub, and cloud platforms like AWS and Azure
• Interest in new technologies and quick learning ability
