Overview

The Pictsweet Company is growing! We are currently recruiting for an Irrigation Specialist to join our team on the company farms. The Irrigation Specialist will install, troubleshoot, repair, monitor and schedule irrigation systems on company farms to ensure proper performance and maximum efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate watering schedules with the Farm Manager.
  • Ensure accurate and uniform application rates for the crop.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair irrigation equipment as needed.
  • Manage parts inventory and maintenance records for all services performed.
  • Provide system recommendations to fit the needs of the farm.
  • Design and read blueprints in order to layout, locate, and install irrigation pipes, valves, and wiring.
  • Operate general farm and trenching equipment as needed for irrigation services.
  • Prepare ground for installation of new irrigation equipment.
  • Understand and implement computerized irrigation systems, including remote monitoring/control systems.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
    • A.S. in Agriculture or similar course of study is preferred.
  • General knowledge and understanding of crop production.
  • Prior work experience on agricultural irrigation systems.
  • Prior plumbing and welding experience is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
