Job description

Our client is a world-leading healthcare company who markets diagnostics systems to hospitals, large-scale laboratories, and physician's offices. They are looking for a Senior Software Tester to start immediately. They are located near Sherway Gardens in Etobicoke.

Please note this is a 3-month contract position with possibility for extension - please be available to interview and start immediately. This contract is for July, August, and September so you'll need to be able to work through the summer!

Summary:

The focus is on manual testing. In addition to writing and executing test cases, you are able to review the work of other testers. This will involve writing and reviewing test specifications, test cases, executed test protocols, and testing evidence. Other tasks involve the preparation of a work environment document, so great writing skills are essential.

You Will…
  1. Review, interpret, and execute software test requirements
  2. Log/track defects with continual testing of fixes
  3. Support the Verification & Validation Manager in meeting the commitments made in the project schedule and suggest work-around solutions where schedule or quality might be compromised.
  4. Liaise with internal and external Quality Assurance agencies to ensure all necessary procedures and standards pertinent to the discipline are established and adhered to.
You Have…
  1. 8+ years testing experience
  2. Good understanding of the SDLC and QA (quality assurance) methodologies and processes
  3. Possesses clear and precise written and verbal communication skills
  4. Good knowledge of client/server technologies (C/C++/C#)
  5. Self-motivated, pro-active, and organized individual that works well independently or within a team
Preferred Experience:
  1. Can set up machines (hardware, e.g., how do you hook up a printer, perform/test installs, ghosting of machine)
  2. Experience in a regulated product environment is a plus
  3. Familiarity with IEEE, ISO, FDA, or other design control quality processes as applicable to software development lifecycle
