About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated High School Teacher with a specialization in French Language to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact by delivering high-quality French-language education in a culturally responsive, inclusive, and engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver French-language instruction for students in Grades 7 to 12
  • Use data-driven strategies to support student learning and achievement
  • Incorporate technology into classroom activities and learning plans
  • Implement outcome-based teaching and assessment methods
  • Foster a positive classroom environment with strong classroom management skills
  • Collaborate with school staff, families, and community partners
  • Promote cultural awareness and inclusive practices

Key Qualifications

  • Completion of a Teacher Education Program diploma or a Bachelor of Education degree
  • Eligibility for a Northwest Territories Teaching Certificate
  • Strong proficiency in spoken and written French
  • Experience teaching French at the secondary level
  • Experience teaching in a JK-12 setting is an asset
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, the NWT French First Language curriculum
  • Familiarity with differentiated instruction and multi-grade classrooms
  • Openness to integrating technology in the classroom
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
