Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer specialized in DevOps to join the Autodesk Informed Design team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, along with experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins. The role involves building pipeline infrastructure for AWS solutions (containerized and serverless), so experience with core AWS services is essential. The candidate should be familiar with agile software development and work closely with Application and Services scrum teams.

Informed Design is part of Autodesk's Design and Make Platform, offering cloud-connected software solutions that unify teams, data, and workflows across project lifecycles to deliver better, faster outcomes. It aims to embed sustainability in the AECO (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Operations) industry and bridge manufacturing and construction sectors to foster Industrialized Construction.

The Informed Design group is an Autodesk Incubation project focused on developing innovative solutions. It offers a dynamic, startup-like environment within Autodesk, providing opportunities for significant contributions and innovation supported by the company's resources.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform.
2. Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or similar tools.
3. Collaborate with development teams for seamless application deployment and integration.
4. Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure in AWS.
5. Contribute to product feature definition, system architecture, and best practices to ensure quality.
6. Engage with cross-functional engineering teams across the organization.
7. Own and resolve mission-critical software challenges.
8. Participate in and lead design reviews.
9. Develop AWS Lambda functions and understand backend development.
10. Support application needs with database system concepts.
11. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
12. Ensure security, compliance, and infrastructure management best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

1. 5+ years of experience in service-oriented software engineering.
2. Proficiency with CI/CD frameworks and tools, especially Jenkins.
3. Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
4. Experience with platform-as-a-service architectures, such as Docker.
5. Hands-on experience with core AWS services like S3, CloudFront, Lambda, Route 53, API Gateway, CloudWatch.
6. Backend development experience with TDD or BDD methodologies.
7. Strong teamwork and communication skills, with SCRUM experience.
8. Openness to working in a dynamic incubation environment.
9. Willingness to learn new tools and technologies for better solutions.
10. BSc in Computing Science, Engineering, or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience with cloud-based database systems such as AWS RDS, Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL, DynamoDB.
2. Experience developing RESTful APIs using backend frameworks.
3. Experience building distributed cloud applications.

The Ideal Candidate

1. Experience with end-to-end testing tools like Cypress or Playwright.
2. Knowledge of front-end frameworks such as React.
3. Experience with Autodesk products, including:

• Development using Autodesk Platform Services (APS) or Autodesk Forge API.
• Development of Add-Ins for Revit, Inventor, or Fusion 360.
• Experience with 3D design using Autodesk products.
