Job description

Teacher Counsellor 1.0 FTE

Location: Hunting Hills High School

Duration: August 25, 2025 to June 30, 2026

Type: Temporary position replacing a leave of absence.

The successful candidate will collaborate with the Counselling and Administration teams to support students and enhance their overall development throughout their school experiences.

About RDPSD Counsellors
  • Provide comprehensive guidance and counselling for students across a diverse spectrum, promoting personal and social development.
  • Foster student growth and skill development while addressing factors that may lead to student problems, facilitating outside agency support when needed.
  • Enhance students' educational achievement by helping them set goals, develop learning plans, and promote effective work and study habits.
  • Assist students through various transitions, including exploring career education and successful personal transition from school into the post-secondary world.
Qualifications and Preferences
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology and related experience, prepared to work in an interdisciplinary team environment.
  • An Alberta Professional Teaching Certificate is required for this position. External applicants should include a copy of their Alberta Teaching Certificate with their application.
