BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY :

The Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Specialist provides support in conversions, stock ordering, vending solutions, order processing, 5S handling of service & equipment, and expediting.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES :
  1. Support MSC customer solutions and sales associates.
  2. Understand company solutions, products, and services, including limited technical knowledge.
  3. Assist in implementing Vendor Managed Inventory programs at customer locations.
  4. Build professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customers.
  5. Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings.
  6. Unpack orders, verify shipment accuracy, and stock items at customer locations.
  7. Ensure appropriate stock levels, generate new orders, and obtain customer approval when needed.
  8. Communicate feedback to sales and supervisors to ensure customer satisfaction.
  9. Perform housekeeping for service equipment and immediate area (5S).
  10. Use company technology to complete daily tasks, order tracking, and routing.
  11. Log events daily within the Service Management tool.
  12. Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as needed.
  13. Promote MSC culture within the department and company.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE :
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Supply chain and process improvement experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience, including at least one year in the industry, preferred.
SKILLS :
  • Proficiency in computer software such as word processing and spreadsheets is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS :
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Position involves over 80% daily travel within the district; occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • May need to lift up to 50 lbs. based on customer needs.
