Key Responsibilities:
- Identify production and quality problems.
- Evaluate and implement measures to improve production and quality in accordance with specifications, considering volume and cost implications.
- Participate in quality projects and related task teams across all internal departments and levels (including supervisors).
- Act as a stand-in for the Artisan when required.
- Ensure compliance with ISO and SHE requirements.
- Support the team in achieving production volume targets by responding quickly to breakdowns.
- Eliminate equipment failures by commissioning equipment prior to start-up.
Quality:
- Support the team in achieving all product, process, and system quality targets (as per the TCP).
- Ensure all records and documentation are properly retained and updated.
- Adhere to ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 standards.
- Maintain and repair equipment to the required quality standards without supervision.
Flexibility:
- Support the production team in achieving volume targets by responding swiftly to breakdowns.
- Commission equipment to ensure smooth production flow.
- Adhere to the shift pattern to provide optimal support to production.
- Develop skills in electrical and mechanical fields to support the BIW environment.
- Perform maintenance after hours as needed to support production.
- Resolve all breakdowns before handing over equipment to the next shift.
Productivity:
- Prevent equipment failures through preventative maintenance.
- Gain comprehensive knowledge of plant and equipment for real-time information.
- Continuously improve equipment and systems to enhance quality, availability, and reliability.
- Manage all BIW-specific equipment responsibility.
- Perform fault finding on integrated systems.
- Develop advanced skills in assigned technology groups.
- Follow maintenance rules of conduct.
- Plan optimal use of spares and equipment during breakdowns and maintenance.
Environment:
- Assist in achieving ISO 14000 environmental targets and conform to BMW standards and procedures.
- Perform all work competently and in accordance with BMW specifications, OHS Act, and ISO 14000.
- Maintain a safe work environment to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Ensure equipment maintenance complies with safety regulations.

- Implement and test new standards beneficial to the plant.
- Test changes and document correctly.
- Identify areas for improvement and lead improvement projects.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external interfaces, including negotiations.
- Maintain communication with production, stores, process maintenance, facilities, and contractors via verbal, telephonic, and written means.
Education:
- N4 Electrical or Mechanical qualification.
- Trade Test in Electrical or Mechanical fields.
Experience:
- Work and leadership experience.
- Minimum 1-2 years in electrical and mechanical maintenance within an automated production environment.
