Job Description

We are currently seeking a Senior Operations Specialist to join our team.

The Senior Operations Specialist is responsible for ensuring all work aligns with strategic priorities across all business lines. This includes applying and supporting operational projects and assisting Agile squads as needed. The role involves leading or being a key stakeholder in operational projects, demonstrating strong logical and critical thinking, along with excellent organizational and project management skills.

Typical Daily Responsibilities
  1. Project Management: Lead or participate as a key stakeholder in project execution from design to development, focusing on harmonization and continuous improvement of branch operations policies and processes impacting member experience or branch performance. Contribute expertise to corporate projects and support the development of content management frameworks aligned with strategic initiatives.
  2. Project Support: Support internal and Central 1 projects to meet business needs; collaborate with stakeholders to implement front-office projects, including planning, change management, training, and communication to ensure successful delivery.
  3. Operations: Serve as a subject matter expert, collaborating with various teams to develop, implement, and audit policies, guidelines, and procedures. Identify risks and recommend solutions, working with Risk Partners to address issues.
  4. Risk Management: Manage the creation and investigation of decision documents, business requirements, and operational tasks. Ensure changes are communicated and compliant with regulations. Provide advice to internal teams to ensure alignment with policies.
  5. Content Management Governance: Support content management processes, monitor adherence to workflows, and assist with updates and leadership communication. Provide guidance to related team members as needed.
  6. Agile Support: Offer subject matter expertise to Agile squads, supporting compliance and project processes as required.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • College Diploma in a related discipline; Lean Green Belt certification required
  • At least 5 years of experience in an Operations role within the financial services industry
  • Experience with business functions and integrated credit union systems
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating leadership
  • Strategic planning and tactical execution skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple responsibilities
  • Knowledge of project management and process mapping
  • Operational expertise in financial systems
  • Understanding of FI policies, procedures, and products/services
