Role Overview: The Statistical Analyst (II) will apply complex statistical skills to support research projects at the Population Health Research Institute, a joint institute of Hamilton Health Sciences and McMaster University. Responsibilities include data analysis, database management, statistical reporting, and supporting research publications.

Accountabilities
  1. Design, implement, and maintain databases and data collection tools.
  2. Develop strategies for database upgrades and modifications.
  3. Maintain standard operating procedures for database management.
  4. Apply statistical methods to analyze data and interpret results.
  5. Develop data collection forms and procedures.
  6. Design database specifications and modify software as needed.
  7. Document design changes and develop test cases.
  8. Contribute to scientific publications, proposals, and reports.
  9. Identify and resolve database and software issues.
  10. Conduct data audits and summarize findings.
  11. Coordinate data collection, entry, verification, and reporting.
  12. Advise on data analysis and collection strategies.
  13. Review literature and research statistical methods.
  14. Facilitate meetings and prepare recommendations on statistical strategies.
  15. Present and train on statistical methods.
  16. Ensure confidentiality of study data.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Statistics or related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.
