Quality Inspector – Level 1

The Quality Inspector – Level 1 position, under direct supervision, is responsible for inspecting products and assisting with quality audits. The role primarily involves testing and sampling raw materials and incoming products to ensure compliance with company standards. Additionally, the inspector devises gauging or measuring set-ups to ensure labeling meets company and governmental regulations.

Performance Expectations
  • Conduct first-off inspection, receiving inspection, and in-process inspection.
  • Perform product and Laboratory Performance Audit (LPA) audits.
  • Utilize manual gauging tools and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) as needed.
  • Inspect incoming materials according to receiving inspection requirements.
  • Sort products based on visual aids.
  • Complete necessary forms and paperwork accurately.
  • Understand TS processes for nonconforming materials, identification, and inspection procedures.
  • Support internal and external customers with other assigned tasks.
  • Adhere to all health & safety, environmental laws, and procedures.
  • Measure or weigh products to assess conformity to quality standards, requiring basic math skills.
  • Use technical knowledge to identify causes of problems.
  • Utilize computer applications to monitor quality metrics.
Credentials
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous machining experience.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), including histograms, X and R charts, and Cpk.
  • Familiarity with TS-16949 standards is considered an asset.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT).
  • Proficiency in using measuring equipment such as micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, and bore gauges.
