Job description

The Host/Support Staff plays a crucial role in creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, ensuring that every guest feels welcomed and valued. The successful candidate will serve as an ambassador for both Cocotte and the hotel, contributing to an exceptional guest experience. Key responsibilities include managing the seating and flow of guests in the dining room, bar, and café, and delivering food to guest rooms upon request. The Host/Support Staff will be instrumental in enhancing the overall success of our guest interactions.

JOB DUTIES

  • Welcoming all guests entering the restaurant and thanking all guests who are leaving; asking how they enjoyed their meal and how their experience was.
  • Answering the telephone and responding to reservation requests and all other information.
  • Setting up and organizing the host area and other areas of responsibility throughout the shift, including cleaning, and organizing all menus.
  • Clear, clean, sanitize and reset guest tables in the dining room, lounge and café and meeting rooms as needed.
  • Delivering room service orders to guest rooms as per standard protocols.
  • Practice a very high level of communication and teamwork with peers and management.
  • Provide genuine hospitality by engaging with guests throughout their entire experience, maintaining a positive personality throughout.
  • Conducting guest restroom checks, maintaining the front lobby cleanliness, and cleaning the agreed designated areas by following checklist procedures and opening or closing routines.
  • Following established standards for greeting guests entering the restaurant, always prioritizing the guests’ experience and needs.
  • Assisting guests and responding to their needs; ensuring you help the guest in either directing them to the restroom, getting their server, or other requests.
  • Organize and control the seating of guests using correct procedures and practices.
  • Assist other staff members and management with other duties, tasks, and cleaning responsibilities.
  • Be continually aware of, and maintain, the highest standards of professionalism by following the company dress code; maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude at all times.
  • Protect the health and safety of others by adopting safe work practices and reporting unsafe conditions immediately.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a similar position.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Autonomy, resourcefulness, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and French, both orally and in writing.
