Business Development Associate - B2B Software

Software International (SI) supplies technical talent to Fortune 100/500/1000 companies in Canada. Our client is a large, publicly traded software company with operations in 30+ countries worldwide with revenue exceeding $35 billion. They specialize in the acquisition of B2B companies and the design, implementation, and support of various B2B software across a wide range of industries.

Type: Hybrid (3 days in office)

Salary : $60,000 - 80,000/year + Uncapped commissions + bonus + benefits + vacation + discounted company equity purchase + RRSP matching + opportunity for growth within the company

Job Summary:

This is a client-facing role, and we are looking for a driven, energetic, and professional individual to join our growing team. The successful candidate will possess exceptional communication skills and a talent for relationship building. The role requires expertise in accurately capturing and qualifying leads, effectively managing a sales pipeline, and achieving quarterly targets. The role of Business Development Associate provides a challenging career opportunity as well as career advancement within the company. Working closely with senior leaders within the company, the successful candidate will help find creative ways to source & connect with suitable software companies for acquisition. The ideal candidate will have a strong hunter mentality coupled with acumen in finance.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify sales targets and nurture leads by proactively initiating and maintaining relationships with owners of software businesses through various channels including email, phone, LinkedIn, and in-person meetings.
  • Respond to inbound leads by understanding and articulating clients' acquisition criteria and unique value propositions to owners of target software businesses.
  • Assist in the M&A pipeline process by developing tailored messaging that engages critical decision-makers and coordinating appointments (webinars, in-person meetings, event preparation, etc.).
  • Mentor and train junior business development analysts.
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests in a high-pressure and time-sensitive environment while conducting research to identify and map out potentially attractive markets and software companies for acquisition.
  • Demonstrate creativity, persistence, and credibility in reaching out to Owners, Operators, and C-Suite leadership.

Skills and Experience

  • Excellent academic performance in an undergraduate business or finance degree.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions experience is a plus.
  • 1+ years of experience in a business development/lead generation role, ideally in a B2B software environment.
  • Ability to manage a pipeline of leads and exceed prospecting target quotas; highly metrics-driven with extensive experience cold calling founders and C-suite executives.
  • Strong communication skills with confidence in presenting to C-suite executives and business owners.
  • Experience working in M&A, software, or technology is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce is an asset.
  • Multilingual skills are an asset as we are expanding globally!
  • Professional attitude with a persistent and solid work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team-oriented hybrid environment.
  • Hunter personality.
  • University degree in a math/finance-related discipline preferred.
  • Highly motivated individual with an excellent attitude and drive.
