  • Allowance

This position is eligible for the Pay Market Modifier, valued at 9.5% of the basic annual salary ($77,427 - $94,177 for the Pay and Benefits position). The above includes the 9.5% Pay Market Modifier.

You will have job stability since the Pay and Benefits Section of CSIS is part of the Phoenix Direct Entry Organizations.

Major Responsibilities Include
  • Coordinate and administer pay and benefits services by providing counselling and guidance to employees of all levels, their families, and their representatives on various options available in situations such as resignations, layoffs, insurance plans, maternity/parental entitlements, and garnishments, applying policies and guidelines.
  • Research and analyze case-specific data, establishing requirements from legislation, pension and insurance plans, policies, procedures, programs, directives, collective agreements, and other authorities; prepare summaries.
  • Coordinate continuation of employee benefits and deductions through communication with other departments.
  • Research and assess policies and regulations from Treasury Board and Public Services and Procurement Canada, ensuring their application where required.
  • Exchange case-specific information with internal and external organizations to resolve issues and questions.
  • Organize workload efficiently, meet deadlines, set priorities, verify data, and ensure accuracy.
  • Initiate transactions such as leaves, pay adjustments, appointments, transfers, pension, and insurance plans by collecting data and calculating entitlements and obligations.
  • Participate in projects, providing input on system improvements, development, testing, and implementation of HR systems.
Education
  • 2-year college diploma or
  • High school diploma

Note: Higher levels of education may be recognized as experience. The educational program must be from an accredited institution recognized in Canada. If completed outside Canada, proof of Canadian equivalency is required at your expense.

Experience
  • Two (2) years of experience required or
  • Four (4) years of experience required.
  • Experience performing the full scope of a Pay Specialist using the Phoenix Pay System, including administering pay and benefits.

A written exam will be administered. Most work must be performed in-office, not remotely.

Security Requirements

Eligibility for an Enhanced Top Secret security clearance, involving interviews, polygraph, and background checks. No illegal drug use from application submission onward.
