Job Title: Corporate Head of Growth, Sustainability and Asset Maximisation

Department: Development, Sustainability and Sales

Reports to: Executive Director of Property

Direct Reports: Sustainability Manager, Sales Manager, and Development Project Manager

This is a pivotal time in our organisation’s journey as we look to shape the future of our portfolio. With an ambition to deliver more homes, make better use of land and assets, and embed long-term sustainability across operations, this role is central to driving our strategic development.

We seek an inspiring, commercially astute leader with a strong understanding of housing, asset management, sustainability, and growth. You will identify and deliver opportunities to acquire and develop new homes, unlock land potential, and support property rationalisation that aligns with current and future needs.

This role involves reviewing housing schemes for fitness, financial sustainability, and alignment with evolving customer expectations. Your strategic insight and ability to balance social value with financial performance will be vital for shaping our long-term asset strategy.

As a senior leader, you will foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability, ensuring growth and sustainability are embedded organization-wide. You will work with colleagues and stakeholders to promote data-led decisions, unlock investment, and position us for resilience and impact.

Role Purpose

To lead and deliver the strategic growth function, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s values and objectives. This encompasses new delivery, sustainability, asset maximisation, sales, leaseholder management, and stakeholder engagement to build trust, enhance reputation, and support organizational goals. You will also be a member of our joint leadership group and lead a neighbourhood hub to develop place-based strategies with local communities.

We offer flexible working arrangements, recognizing the benefits of flexibility. However, regular presence in our offices in Grimsby and Boston, and within neighbourhoods, is essential for relationship building, supporting teams, and maintaining visibility.

Your Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience in development and asset maximisation in public sector housing.
  • Leadership or managerial experience within a Growth or Development team.
  • Experience with development via S106, joint ventures, package deals, or land-led methods.
  • Experience in sales and marketing of new homes.
  • Experience in appraising and procuring capital projects.
  • Experience developing and implementing growth, assets, and sustainability strategies.
  • Experience engaging leadership and stakeholders.
  • Experience bidding for and delivering Homes England programmes.
  • Understanding of housing development, financial, legal, and statutory requirements.
  • Experience working with Boards and Committees at senior levels.
  • Business risk and financial planning experience.
  • Degree or equivalent education, with relevant professional qualifications (e.g., RICS, CIH, MBA).
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
