As a Starbucks Shift Supervisor, you will assist the store manager in executing store operations during scheduled shifts. You will lead the team by delegating tasks and creating the Starbucks Experience through legendary customer service, prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean, welcoming store environment. You will model and uphold Starbucks guiding principles, contributing to a positive work environment in a company recognized as a great place to work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act with integrity, honesty, and promote Starbucks' culture, values, and mission.
  • Maintain composure during busy or unusual events to ensure store standards and set a positive example.
  • Evaluate environment and customer cues to anticipate needs.
  • Communicate effectively with the manager to respond to store needs and create a welcoming environment.
  • Assist with training new partners, providing positive reinforcement and respectful coaching.
  • Recognize and communicate team morale or performance issues to the manager.
  • Offer clear, respectful coaching to partners to ensure operational excellence and performance improvement.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service with a customer-first attitude and connection.
  • Respond to customer needs and develop positive relationships with the team.
  • Oversee store operations during scheduled shifts, including opening and closing duties.
  • Follow all operational policies, including cash handling and safety procedures.
  • Ensure proper cash management practices are followed.
  • Coordinate with baristas during shifts to ensure excellent service.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Provide quality beverages and food products according to standards.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Recognize and celebrate team achievements and find new ways to motivate staff.
  • Utilize operational tools to achieve shift goals.

Experience and Skills

  • Customer service experience in retail or restaurant settings.
  • Ability to lead and direct others.
  • Quick learner with effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of retail environment and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Teamwork orientation.
