Responsibilities
- Prepare for service by reviewing work orders, gathering equipment, supplies, and tools, and coordinating schedules with customers.
- Install and service security/fire alarm systems by running wiring, connecting devices, programming, calibrating, and testing equipment.
- Verify system functionality by confirming connections and signals, and troubleshoot issues.
- Learn and adhere to all relevant government codes, regulations, and standards.
- Document installations and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain customer rapport by resolving concerns and answering questions.
- Follow safe work practices and company safety policies to ensure a secure work environment.
- Keep security information confidential.
- Manage supplies by checking inventory, placing orders, and verifying receipts.
- Enhance job knowledge through educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
- Contribute to organizational goals as assigned by supervisor, proactively taking ownership and exploring opportunities to add value.
Qualifications
- Full CFAA Registration is required.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of portable equipment, emergency lighting, sprinkler testing, repair, and service is preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards including CAN/ULC S536-04 and CAN/ULC S537-04.
- Minimum 2 years of related Canadian work experience in fire alarm inspections, repairs, troubleshooting, and fault tracing.
- Strong command of English, both written and verbal.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a flexible environment.
- Physical ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders, work from lifts, and tolerate heights.
