Responsibilities
  1. Prepare for service by reviewing work orders, gathering equipment, supplies, and tools, and coordinating schedules with customers.
  2. Install and service security/fire alarm systems by running wiring, connecting devices, programming, calibrating, and testing equipment.
  3. Verify system functionality by confirming connections and signals, and troubleshoot issues.
  4. Learn and adhere to all relevant government codes, regulations, and standards.
  5. Document installations and maintain accurate records.
  6. Maintain customer rapport by resolving concerns and answering questions.
  7. Follow safe work practices and company safety policies to ensure a secure work environment.
  8. Keep security information confidential.
  9. Manage supplies by checking inventory, placing orders, and verifying receipts.
  10. Enhance job knowledge through educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
  11. Contribute to organizational goals as assigned by supervisor, proactively taking ownership and exploring opportunities to add value.
Qualifications
  • Full CFAA Registration is required.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of portable equipment, emergency lighting, sprinkler testing, repair, and service is preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards including CAN/ULC S536-04 and CAN/ULC S537-04.
  • Minimum 2 years of related Canadian work experience in fire alarm inspections, repairs, troubleshooting, and fault tracing.
  • Strong command of English, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a flexible environment.
  • Physical ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work from lifts, and tolerate heights.
