The Ministry of the Solicitor General facility includes a 100 bed Secure Treatment Unit (STU) to service the needs of incarcerated offenders with mental illness; and the STU has been designated a Schedule 1 facility under the Mental Health Act by the Minister of Health and Long Term Care.



Duties

Complete behavioural assessments and plan treatment strategies in conjunction with team members, and under the supervision of a registered psychologist (for example: ABA programming).

Develop and implement positive behaviour support plans for referred individual clients.

Monitor management of positive behaviour support plans and collect data to document clients’ progress.

Coordinate and monitor service delivery and assist in the development and delivery of training sessions on behaviour modification for clients, staff and community partners.

Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team.

Provide Education to community partners about behaviour management and principles of behaviour modification.

Attend clinical and program meetings as required.

Enter workload measurement data according to hospital policies.

Willingness to work variable hours, evenings and weekends.

Work in a manner that is in compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies and procedures of The Royal.

Qualifications

Other duties as required.

Post graduate diploma or degree from a recognized college or university such as a diploma in Behaviour Analysis or a related field. i.e. Behavioural Science Technology (3 years advanced), or a related undergraduate degree with emphasis on applied behavior analysis.

Demonstrated experience and sound knowledge in the field of developmental disabilities, mental illness and behavioural analysis.

Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a professional multi-disciplinary team environment.

Previous experience in a Forensic setting is considered an asset.

Experience in facilitation of group/individual counselling and experience in staff training/education is considered an asset.

Knowledge of consultation model.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

English level A- in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading and writing is mandatory. Bilingual (French/English) level A- is considered an asset.

Salary Range: $36.84 to $50.24 per hour
