Job summary

A leading community support organization in Toronto is seeking a Behaviour Support Associate to provide vital support to individuals with intellectual disabilities. Qualifications

As a leader in the field, Community Living Toronto offers supports to over 6,000 individuals with intellectual disabilities as well as support to their families, including residential and day support, assistance with employment, community support, early childhood services, and respite.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Post-secondary education with a focus in Social Services; preference given to graduates of a Behavioural Science Technology degree or diploma program.
• At least one year of experience using Applied Behaviour Analysis to support individuals with complex needs in a residential environment.
• Successful completion of internal legislated and mandated training, including Safe Management Group (SMG).
• Driver's license is an asset.

JOB SUMMARY:

Supporting individuals in all aspects of daily living while working as part of an inter-professional team, including an ABA lead and Behavioural Services Consultant, to directly implement all aspects of the behavioural intervention/support plan. A strong emphasis is placed on building capacity to function in the community.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop written programs to aid in the acquisition of life skills, in collaboration with the ABA lead.
• Identify program needs, participate in development and implementation of life plans, and monitor achievement of personal outcomes.
• Provide case management, personal and physical care, medication administration, crisis response, and liaise with families and other professionals.
• Offer emotional support and refer to professionals when necessary.
• Maintain documentation, monitor finances, and ensure appropriate standards of living.
• Provide direction to part-time staff as required.
• Offer feedback to ABA lead regarding program implementation.

Note: The position is overnight awake and part of a 37.5-hour work week.
