QUALIFICATIONS
  • A high-school diploma, 6 months of related work experience, and knowledge of health-care procedures and mechanical equipment such as wheelchairs, lifts, G-tubes, and other specialized equipment are required.
  • Post-secondary education focusing on Social Services or Developmental Services may be considered as an equivalent with no related work experience required.
  • Successful completion of internal legislated and mandated training is required.
  • Valid driver’s license is an asset.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direction of a program supervisor, responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out assigned duties related to the provision of services and supports.
  • Supporting assessment of daily needs of individuals and implementing life plans to achieve personal outcomes.
  • Providing personal and physical care, including medication administration and crisis response.
  • Liaising with friends and family to address needs and share information.
  • Supporting life skills training and providing emotional support to individuals on a one-on-one or group basis.
