Job Title: Test Automation Developer

Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining automated test frameworks to ensure the quality and reliability of systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement. The Test Automation Developer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, network engineers, and QA, to deliver high-quality testing solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and expand automation frameworks using Python and Pytest for system verification and regression testing.
• Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD for efficient end-to-end deployment.
• Integrate and test APIs, particularly CNOS APIs and libraries for seamless data retrieval.
• Utilize tools like Postman, Robot Framework, and Selenium for API and web automation testing.
• Perform regression, integration, sanity, smoke, blackbox, and whitebox testing.
• Document automation frameworks, API usage, troubleshooting guides, and CI/CD processes.
• Conduct root cause analysis and resolve network and software integration issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to team members.
• Ensure scalability and performance optimization of testing processes.
• Stay updated on the latest trends in automation, CI/CD, and networking technologies.
• Work on multi-platform testing and develop scalable testing frameworks.
• Implement advanced monitoring and reporting solutions.
• Execute manual test cases using Ixia and CNOS test cases.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Python automation testing and scripting.
• Experience with Linux, Git, and software testing.
• Strong experience in developing software test plans and test cases.
• 6+ years of experience in Python, ideally.
• Experience with Pytest.
• Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD.
• Experience testing software on embedded systems and microservices.
• Understanding of Go, GRPC, and software development processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Comfortable with 'greenfield' development; building a project/feature from ground-up.
• Knowledge of Protobuf for messaging between various segments.
• Experience in Agile methodologies.
• Proficiency in API testing using Postman, REST API.
• Experience in regression testing, integration testing, sanity & smoke testing, blackbox testing, and whitebox testing.
• Embedded testing on target would be a nice to have.
• Experience writing tests using gNMI, gRPC or REST.

Work Environment

The work environment requires four days per week on site, with Wednesdays from home. Flexible arrival and departure times within reason are provided to accommodate traffic and other considerations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
