Job Description
We are looking for a Methods Engineer to add his/her expertise to our team.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret aerospace prints.
- Prepare planning associated with the parts.
- Develop manufacturing procedures for assembly, composites, and manufacturing.
- Estimate costs for assembly, composites, and manufacturing using an engineering model.
- Obtain cost and material estimates from subcontractors.
- Plan the flow of parts.
- Meet all engineering and customer specifications, such as required material finishes and processing of materials.
- Work with MRP systems, tool orders, item masters, planning, and document control functions.
- Possess knowledge of shop floor operations in assembly, composites, and manufacturing.
- Develop and carry out work studies and related programs.
- Conduct work measurement or other studies.
- Collect and compile operational or sample data to assist in developing estimates, schedules, specifications, and reports.
- Prepare cost and material estimates, project schedules, and reports.
- Develop integrated manufacturing procedures.
- Analyze costs for reduction opportunities.
- Design, develop, and conduct time studies and work simplification programs.
- Utilize CAD data effectively.
- Visit other facilities to coordinate work and assist fabrication.
- Ensure configuration control in accordance with contracts.
- Perform other related duties as required by the company.
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent plus 3 to 5 years of on-the-job experience.
- Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering certificate/degree is an asset.
- Core training in WHMIS, health & safety, quality standards, customer requirements, and specific to new contracts.
- Proficiency in CAD and computer software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Understanding of shop floor workflow and practices.
Required Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in aerospace.
