NOTICE OF VACANCY
POSITION: BED ALLOCATOR
Primary Site: Stratford
Casual
(Shifts: 8 or 12-hour days/nights, 7 days/week, subject to change)
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Manager, Patient Flow & Scheduling, the Bed Allocator acts as a liaison between admitting and receiving parties and is responsible for coordinating room utilization and care requirements.
REPORTS TO: Manager, Patient Flow & Scheduling
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible
SALARY: $27.47 to $29.15 per hour
Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12 education
- One (1)-year Medical Office Administration certificate
Experience
- Up to six months’ clerical experience in a healthcare setting
- Previous Meditech experience preferred
Abilities
- Well-developed keyboarding/computer skills and experience with Meditech and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability for self-direction and independent work, exercising sound judgment with minimal supervision
- Effective time management and organizational skills, with ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and manage multiple demands
- Initiative, teamwork, and stewardship skills
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work well with staff, patients, and external parties
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in an inter-professional environment
- Ability to multi-task under pressure
