Process Mechanical Designer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Process Mechanical Designer to join our team. You will collaborate directly with senior process mechanical designers on multi-discipline projects primarily serving the water and wastewater industries.

Detailed Description

Under the supervision of design professionals, you will develop BIM documents using Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit. You will work closely with senior process mechanical designers, gaining experience in design coordination of multi-discipline models, and developing plans and sections to communicate engineering designs. Your project work will include creating P&IDs, equipment layouts, process piping and utility system designs, developing contract drawings, conducting field investigations, and supporting construction activities.

Responsibilities
  • Execute work related to wastewater, water utilities, and industrial facilities, including treatment plants, pumping stations, and bio-system facilities.
  • Perform field inspections and testing to verify performance and conformance with plans and specifications.
  • Assist in preparing technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables.
  • Support studies, permitting, and alternative analyses.
  • Participate in field activities such as site investigations as needed.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • 6-10 years of experience in municipal and/or industrial projects is preferred.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD; experience with REVIT is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Piping and Instrumentation Drawing (P&ID) design, including piping, hangers, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Experience with Open Plant, Water, and Wastewater projects is advantageous.
  • Experience in 3D modeling, BIM workflows, and drawing production is desirable.
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to communicate ideas visually and verbally.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
