Qualifications

  • 3-5 years in a high-volume Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center and/or ICU.
  • Current RN licensure in Iowa; BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications.

Registered Nurse Acute - Life Flight - Methodist

Shift: Full-Time, 36 hours/week, Days/Nights/Weekends

As a member of the interdisciplinary team, contributes professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients and their families. Responsibilities
  • Assess patient and family needs, provide education, and make referrals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Develop individualized care plans collaboratively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Complete documentation promptly to maintain an accurate legal record of patient care.
  • Deliver high-quality care using the nursing process, demonstrating knowledge and skills relevant to the unit and adhering to policies and standards.
  • Utilize a holistic approach considering diversity, biopsychosocial, spiritual, educational, and safety factors appropriate to patient age.
  • Delegate and supervise healthcare team members within their scope of practice, ensuring accountability in the care plan.
  • Apply critical thinking to develop nursing interventions, maintaining responsibility and accountability for patient conditions.
Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited RN nursing program; BSN preferred.

Experience: 3-5 years in a high-volume Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center and/or ICU; BLS, ACLS certifications.

Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure in Iowa; BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications (must obtain within 3 months if not already certified); Trauma Course (required upon hire); CFRN (required within 2 years).

Valid driver's license for work-related driving.

  • Fluent in English, with strong communication skills.

  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office.
  • Customer/patient focused.
  • Critical thinking and independent judgment skills.

  • Use of standard equipment for the position.
  • Travel to other UPH facilities may be required; ability to drive UPH or personal vehicle.
