Reports To : Executive Chef / Convivium Director

Job Summary :

Thrive Senior Living is seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team at our Skidaway Island, GA, community. This hourly position supports the Executive Chef in delivering spectacular, high-quality meals to our Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care residents . The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader, passionate about food, and dedicated to creating a top-tier dining experience for our residents.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, including meal preparation, plating, and food service.
  • Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and taste to meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.
  • Oversee kitchen staff, providing direction, training, and support as needed.
  • Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safety standards in accordance with state and local health regulations.
  • Assist with menu planning, inventory control, and ordering supplies.
  • Monitor and manage food waste to optimize efficiency and cost control.
  • Adapt menus and recipes to accommodate special dietary needs, including texture modifications and allergen considerations.
  • Support a positive and collaborative kitchen environment that fosters teamwork and resident satisfaction.
  • Step in as the lead chef in the absence of the Executive Chef.

Qualifications & Requirements :

  • Culinary experience in a senior living, hospitality, or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent training preferred but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Passion for serving older adults and creating a warm, welcoming dining experience.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
