Job description

Position Summary: The role designs, develops, and executes strategies for complex categories to achieve profit and loss deliverables and meet customer needs at unbeatable prices.

What you'll do:
  1. Merchandise Profit & Loss Management: Accountable for all aspects of financial results, including planning, forecasts, sales, markdowns, market share, gross profit, inventory, and pricing. Communicates results and reviews post-buy financial analysis.
  2. Category Strategy Development: Develops strategies aligned with merchant frameworks, utilizing data analysis, assortment decisions, vendor and SKU optimization, and price strategies. May involve store visits and cross-functional communication.
  3. Vendor Relations & Marketing: Negotiates and manages vendor agreements, develops relationships, and oversees marketing activities including tab space planning and media execution.
  4. Forecasting & Merchandising: Manages new item and promotional forecasts, markdowns, line reviews, and ensures flawless execution of store-ready products and seasonal sets.
  5. Team Leadership & Development: Engages and develops associates, provides coaching, mentoring, and succession planning, and leads cross-functional collaboration.
