Job description

RED Mountain Bike School is looking for a passionate and experienced Bike Park Manager to join our team for the 2025 Summer Season.

Reporting to the General Manager, the primary responsibilities of this role will be to manage and coordinate all bike park activities, with a focus on safety and guest experience. This role will be responsible for supervising and scheduling staff, coordinating bike park trail crew, training, developing safety procedures and ensuring compliance for regulations.

The wage rate for this position is $27-$33/hour, depending on qualifications and experience.

The anticipated start date for this position is May 2025, ending in October 2025.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Responsible for the daily operations and supervision of the Bike Park, in coordination with the GM.
  2. Assist Director in budgeting and financial management of the department.
  3. Plan and coordinate the trail crew, including new building and trail maintenance.
  4. Ensure that opening and closing duties for the bike park are carried out. Ensuring all trails are marked and signage is in place.
  5. Recruitment, onboarding and training of staff. Ensuring staff have the appropriate mountain biking skills to carry out their roles.
  6. Manage staff timecards and payroll processing.
  7. Ensure that the appropriate safety procedures are developed and implemented, in accordance with regulations.
  8. Coordinating with the Bike Patrol crew to ensure first aid reporting and duties are carried out.
  9. Promote mountain bike safety by acting as an on-site presence and riding through the park regularly.
  10. Administer first aid if required.
  11. Support other bike park operations functions as required.
  12. Liaise with Gravity Logic on build plan and future development.
  13. Oversee all daily maintenance and build projects.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  1. Diploma in Recreation, Business Administration or another related field is preferred.
  2. Previous experience working on a bike park trail crew.
  3. Strong understanding of trail design.
  4. Previous experience as a bike park manager is preferred.
  5. At least 2 years supervisory experience, preferable in a bike park or the tourism industry.
  6. Strong leadership and staff management skills.
  7. Intermediate First Aid Certification.
  8. Passion for the outdoor and cycling industry.
  9. Strong knowledge of the Mountain Bike Industry.
Physical and Other Requirements
  1. Expert level Mountain Bike Rider, and able to ride all trails in the RED Mountain Bike Park.
  2. Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
  3. Must have a valid BC driver’s license.
  4. Must be able to work weekends and/or evenings.
