A leading educational institution is seeking an Academic Support for Adults and Alternative Students. This permanent position involves providing instruction and supervision in an alternative education setting. The ideal candidate will have a valid teaching certification and experience in Science or Physical Education. The South Shore Regional Centre for Education (SSRCE) practices a culturally responsive pedagogy approach to provide an inclusive, diverse, equitable, safe, and healthy education that supports personal and academic success for the 59,000 residents of Lunenburg and Queens Counties. This area covers 5,250 square kilometres and includes 23 schools.

Title: Academic Support for Adults and Alternative Students - 20% Alternative and 80% Adult (Subjects include Global Sustainability Studies 12, MKS 11 or CCS 11, PAL 11, PE 11 and 12 as required, Business Technology 11, Design 11, Oceans 11, Co-op 12)
Responsibilities include providing classroom instruction and supervision to students in an alternative education setting, reinforcing instruction to individuals and small groups across various academic subjects, implementing personal education and behavior plans, utilizing behavioral strategies and alternative programs, working with outside agencies and support staff, attending meetings, and maintaining records in PowerSchool. Experience in Math and Science is an asset.
