Job description

Position Summary

Argus Properties is hiring Concrete Carpenters to support our growing team in Kelowna, BC. Working under the direction of the Site Superintendent, you will be responsible for the construction, installation, maintenance and repair of structures made of concrete. You will have rough framing experience, finishing, and exterior installations experience. The role requires drive and a sense of accountability.


Job Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Work with steel forms, Peri, Aluma, Doka, Camlock, Titan, and wood gang forms.
  2. Erect and dismantle form work for suspended slabs, columns, beams, cores, footings, walls, raft slabs and stairs.
  3. Working at heights and ability to use fall protection.
  4. Handle and install carpentry materials.
  5. Use of power tools and pneumatic tools.
  6. Working and signalling rough terrain forklifts.
  7. Working and signalling tower cranes.
  8. Working and signalling mobile cranes.
  9. Operate and maintain company assets and equipment without supervision.
  10. Complete all required health and safety documents.
  11. Read and interpret blueprints and building plans to determine specifications and requirements.
  12. Erecting and dismantling suspended deck scaffolding.
  13. Additional duties as required.

Qualifications
  1. Journeyman Carpenter / Apprentice Carpenter.
  2. Ability to travel frequently with projects.
  3. Ability to work effectively with team members.
  4. Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
  5. Self-motivated and self-directed with a demonstrated ability to work with a team and independently in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  6. Act professionally and in a trustworthy and respectful manner.
  7. High Standard of ethical conduct.
  8. Excellent written and verbal English skills.
  9. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence.
  10. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one small group situations to other employees.
  11. Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  12. Rigging ticket is an asset.
  13. Telehandler operation for lifting panels is an asset.

Working Conditions
  1. Workload is moderate to high.
  2. Frequently exposed to noise.
  3. Work Schedule is typically Monday to Friday 7:30AM to 4:30PM, with ability to work the project schedule which may include evening shifts and weekends.

Physical Requirements
  1. Must be able to work in a field environment.
  2. Moderate to high level of physicality.
  3. Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. frequently.
