Qualifications

The Client:

Our client is a market maker and a trusted source for currency data with one of the world's largest historical, high frequency, filtered currency databases. They move billions of dollars.

The Opportunity:

Working with highly talented product management and marketing teams, you will be responsible for the development of new features and products that await short and long term implementation to offer expanded business growth.

Responsibilities:

1. Manages and develops a team of approximately 5 Java developers.
2. Focuses on high quality implementation, provides technical direction, oversees and reviews designs and code, ensures system integrity and scalable architecture.
3. Works closely with the marketing, product management, testing and performance, and our core development teams.
4. Enhances strategic planning process by offering insights and plans to management team.

Qualifications:

1. Computer Science or Software Engineering Degree.
2. 3-7 years experience as a Java Developer and at least 2 years managing a team of 4 or more developers.
3. Experience working in Agile with high volume releases per week.
4. Strong and demonstrated project management experience.
5. Demonstrated experience working in a Unix environment.
6. Experience with the following:

• Java SE 1.5+
• AWT, Swing
• JUnit, Ant
• DB2, MySQL
• REST, JSON, Protocol Buffers

A solid understanding of the software development process and best practices.

Excellent written and oral communication.
