Credit Clerk

Come be a part of the Finance Team supporting our iconic outdoor brands in Fishing, Watercraft, Camping and Diving!

The person in this role maintains the current customer account through daily cash application and provides clerical support needed for the collection of customer accounts.

Based in beautiful and affordable Racine, Wisconsin, at our Headquarters on the shore of Lake Michigan, you'll have access to outdoor activities like skiing, snowmobiling, kayaking, fishing, sailing, hiking, and more. The area is close to Milwaukee and Chicago, offering amenities, arts, culture, and diverse dining options.

Note: This role is a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office/2 remote).

What you will do:
  1. Perform daily cash application activities, including posting checks, wires, credit card transactions, creating chargebacks, maintaining cash balance sheets, depositing checks, and managing cash receipts files.
  2. Review chargebacks, process claims, research issues, contact customers as needed, and review claim validity (shortages, pricing, terms, returns). Process payback requests or credits.
  3. Handle special credit requests, including refunds, intercompany invoices, and maintain related files.
  4. Perform customer reconciliation and maintenance under general guidance.
  5. Process accounts receivable invoices and credits as directed.
  6. Assist with collection calls and deduction management as needed.
  7. Provide general office support, including creating documents, data entry, mail handling, answering inquiries, and maintaining office equipment.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts receivable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of cash application and account reconciliation processes.
  • Problem-solving skills for account issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and computerized transaction posting.
  • Attention to detail and high accuracy.
