Reporting into the Director, Brand Accounting, the Analyst, Fixed Assets will be responsible for a wide variety of finance-related tasks that are primarily associated with the maintenance of fixed assets for all corporate restaurants. This role will also be responsible for preparing financial statements for Brand(s) and corporate restaurants.

What you will do in this role :

Fixed Assets Analyst : (70%)

  • Performing various functions to ensure effective maintenance of fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
  • Preparing fixed assets continuity schedules and notes to the financial statement for external financial reporting.
  • Managing a full cycle of fixed assets from acquisition to disposition of fixed assets
  • Preparing various fixed assets schedules on a monthly basis such as new CAPEX schedule, NBV Analysis, fixed assets continuity (Canadian and US)
  • Allocate tag numbers to fixed assets to effectively track them
  • Performing depreciation run for all fixed assets
  • Preparing YTD fixed assets capital spend schedule to compare actual spend with the Brand’s budget and provide capex forecast for the year
  • Reconciling continuity schedule with the balance sheet
  • Preparing and reviewing notes to the financial statement
  • Support preparation of quarterly impairment review of fixed assets
  • Support preparation of annual depreciation budgets and forecasts
  • Preparing fixed assets schedules for external auditors and supporting them with related inquiries

Brand Accountant : (30%)

  • Preparation of monthly operating financial statements according to established timeframes
  • Prepare month-end journal entries
  • Liaise with internal departments (Accounts Payable / Receivable, Banking, Payroll, Tax and Real Estate)
  • Liaise with restaurant managers to provide guidance and support on accounting issues and cost reviews of the monthly operating statements
  • Monthly Balance Sheet account reconciliations
  • Preparation of year-end audit working papers

What we are looking for from you :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting
  • Chartered Public Accountant (CPA) or Student enrolled in CPA
  • Knowledge of accounting principles such as IFRS and GAAP
  • Experience and knowledge of fixed assets and General Ledger
  • Strong analytical and ability to pay attention to details
  • Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets
  • Experience with JDE, and ReportsNow
