PRODUCTION OPERATOR (PRINTING PRESS / EXTRUDER)

JOB SUMMARY

The primary function of this role is to perform job set-ups, adjustments, startups and shutdowns in accordance with specifications and standard operating procedures. Reporting to Production supervisor, the role will production and quality by ensuring production and equipment condition.

BramCal Production, Inc. in Barrie, Ontario manufactures printed film wrappers and shrink-wrap bags for IKO roofing products.

WHEN YOU JOIN US, YOU WILL :

  • Perform job set-ups, adjustments, startups and shutdowns in accordance with specifications and standard operating procedures
  • Adjust the operating speed of machinery to meet optimal targets set by the company
  • Monitor/inspect/report safely on film quality, production and equipment condition
  • Report findings to Supervisor or Specialist and work with them to resolve any cause of defect
  • Ensure quality of film and raw materials meet or exceed customer and company standards
  • Follow established safety protocols, report any H&S issues and assist in near miss or accident investigations
  • Follow plant rules
  • Wear all personal safety equipment as required by company
  • Maintain clean and safe conditions around work areas and equipment
  • Be flexible to work rotating 12-hour day and night shifts
  • Participate in cross training on other company equipment
  • Be able to work overtime as required beyond standard work hours

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Ability to safely perform heavy lifting up to 50 pounds on a routine basis
  • Comfortable withstanding for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work at heights
  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent, in reading, writing and basic math
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing, construction, or similar industry preferred
  • Experience in flexographic printing and/or blown film multilayer extrusion is considered an asset
  • Counter-balance forklift operating experience (Recommended)
  • Manual dexterity
  • Attention to detail
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
