Job Title: RISE Case Specialist – Arabic Speaking

Status: Regular, Fulltime (Union position)

Schedule: Monday - Friday (9am - 4:30pm)

Hours: 35 hours/week

Wage: $29.17 - $33.49/hour (Starting at $29.17/hr)

Grid: 12

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: March 31, 2028

Opportunity

We are recruiting a RISE Case Specialist Arabic Speaking to join the Refugee & Immigrant Specialized Experience (RISE) program. The role involves providing 1:1 culturally competent, GBA+ & trauma-informed navigation and coordination support for high-needs clients in Surrey and Delta communities, aiming to address their needs, strengthen personal capacity, and foster independence over 12-18 months until graduation from the program.

The RCS will conduct eligibility assessments, provide system navigation, cultural brokerage, skills-building sessions, targeted referrals, and support bridging clients to community services, including accompaniment to appointments.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct outreach for client referrals, including collaboration with IRCC RAP;
  2. Respond to referrals with program eligibility and service information;
  3. Manage client intake, needs assessments, and settlement planning;
  4. Assess client needs, assets, and capacities through interviews;
  5. Plan and conduct life skills training and support;
  6. Develop and implement group services and workshops;
  7. Provide in-home and community support, facilitate family communication, and assist with integration;
  8. Connect clients to community resources with cultural and language support;
  9. Offer emotional support, crisis intervention, and cultural brokerage;
  10. Identify issues like depression, family violence, substance abuse, and refer to appropriate services;
  11. Provide crisis counselling as needed;
  12. Develop holistic service plans;
  13. Participate in case management meetings for complex cases;
  14. Maintain client records and produce reports per policies;
  15. Coordinate with community service providers and professionals;
  16. Accompany clients to meetings and appointments;
  17. Adhere to agency policies and standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in human/social services or related field;
  • Minimum 1 year recent experience with vulnerable refugee populations or equivalent education and experience;
  • Proficiency in English and Arabic (reading, writing, speaking) at a professional level;
  • Experience in needs assessments and holistic service planning;
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries;
  • Knowledge of refugee experiences, settlement issues, and local community resources;
  • Ability to work independently and problem-solve effectively;
  • Proficiency with office software and equipment;
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s license and access to a vehicle;
  • Flexible schedule availability.
