Job description

The Opportunity :

This is an entry level part time position (up to 20 hours per week) within the Fitness and Leisure department.

Accountabilities include but are not limited to :

• Providing quality child care services to children whose families utilize Genesis Place
• Interacting with and caring for children ages infant to 6 years
• Providing fun activities in a safe and enjoyable environment
• Great customer service and communication skills
• Providing a healthy and clean area for children to play and explore

You Bring :

A minimum age of 18 years is required

Current Standard First Aid – Level C CPR with AED certification (copy must be submitted with application)

Exceptional customer service and people skills

Experience working with and caring for children

A genuine desire to work with children

Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced and ever changing environment

Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Level 1 ECE / Child Development Worker certification would be an asset

Additional Information :

This is a part time position (approximately 20 hours per week) with daytime shifts from 7 : 45 am – 1 : 30 pm, evening shifts between 4 : 30 pm – 9 : 00 pm and weekend shifts from 7 : 45 am – 12 : 15 pm. Candidates with availability Monday – Friday mornings may be given priority. Additionally, candidates with Level 1 Early Childhood Educator certification may be eligible for shifts in our licensed pre-school program.

Successful candidates must be able to perform physically demanding tasks and will be required to lift, bend, and kneel. Sitting on low chairs and the floor will be required for the majority of the shifts.

The successful applicant will be required to complete a current, acceptable Criminal Records Check, including Vulnerable Sector, upon hire.
