What is the opportunity?

You will perform critical Tax Operations functions related to onboarding new and existing clients and managing collections. The team supports RBC CM’s businesses and reports to the Tax Operations Manager.

What will you do?

  1. Ensure local compliance with RBC tax obligations, focusing on timely and accurate client onboarding in accordance with tax regulations.
  2. Handle daily activities of the Tax Onboarding Team, including indexing tax obligations in TORC based on client, product, and account identification.
  3. Conduct outreach to clients for tax documents and certifications necessary for onboarding.
  4. Use third-party repositories and service providers to obtain tax documentation, raising requests and maintaining cases.
  5. Coordinate between CM Tax Ops and clients to resolve issues and manage expectations regarding tax documents.
  6. Maintain audit records of outreach and follow-ups, including dates and communications.
  7. Review tax forms for completeness and validity, returning forms to clients if issues are found.
  8. Prioritize tasks within TORC based on regulatory exposure and risk.
  9. Perform remediation activities to update expired or invalid tax documents within regulatory timelines.
  10. Ensure clients and partners receive timely attention and responses to queries.
  11. Assist in compiling KPIs, KRIs, and evidence for performance measurement, risk management, and audits.
  12. Support project initiatives, including system testing and process improvements.

What you need to succeed?

  • University degree in Finance or Economics, or a recognized financial diploma.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of W-8 and W-9 form requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Risk awareness and control development focus.
  • Accountancy designations are preferred.
  • Experience in operations within a financial institution.
