Job description

We’re looking for motivated, engaged people to help make everyone’s journeys better.

Position Summary:

We’re looking for someone with a passion for Operations Leadership for a position in our Vancouver Flight Kitchen. If you have strong leadership skills and production experience, this is an opportunity to take your career to the next level. You will be leading people and processes in various departments including airline stores, wares wash, final assembly, and galley assembly. As we’re a 24hr/day, 7 days per week operation, you must be able to work various shifts.

Salary Range: $70,000 to $80,000 gross annually CAD

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan daily labour according to production requirements and productivity targets.
  • Assign work and follow up throughout your shift to ensure your departments are achieving the plan.
  • Ensure everything your teams produce meets your internal and external customers’ requirements (Quality) and is delivered on time.
  • Responsible for safety, quality, compliance with customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and company policies and procedures.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to improve upon safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Work independently and with your peers to resolve problems in the supply chain.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, performance evaluation, coaching, counseling, and preparing corrective action for employees and liaises appropriately with HR and other support functions.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Work Experience:

  • 2+ years supervisory experience working in a high volume, fast-paced manufacturing or logistics operation preferred.

Skills:

  • Must have strong and effective leadership skills, and the ability to successfully manage a staff of 50+ hourly employees.
  • Strong communicator both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to prioritize.
  • Current or previous experience leading in a unionized environment is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to train others required.
  • Must have the ability to give negative and positive feedback to employees daily.
  • Excellent time management skills required. Ability to handle multiple tasks without losing focus on priorities.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and leadership skills required.
  • Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
  • Knowledge of Intermediate Excel will be an added advantage.
