TEMPORARY 1.0 FTE TEACHER ELEMENTARY

KYUQUOT ELEMENTARY SECONDARY SCHOOL

Effective Immediately until June 30, 2025, or the return of the incumbent.

Kyuquot Elementary Secondary School is a small BC public school located on the beautiful west coast of Vancouver Island, enrolling approximately 43 students from Grades 1-12, the majority being of First Nations ancestry. The Village of Kyuquot is sheltered by a unique and picturesque archipelago and surrounded by the beautiful wilderness of the Pacific West Coast of Vancouver Island.

The school is seeking an enthusiastic, resourceful, and proficient teacher who would be excited to foster the two goals of the District's Education Plan: supporting student well-being and ensuring success for all learners.

Teaching assignment may include: Elementary Program Instruction

The successful candidate will be:

  • Willing and flexible to teach Grades 1-7 curriculum full-time as part of a collaborative learning team
  • Comfortable engaging in learning off-site and in 'on the land' contexts
  • Physically capable to perform the duties of this position

Education and Experience:

  • Valid BC Certification with the TRB, with recent teaching experience at the elementary level, preferably in a multi-grade classroom.
